The Field The Forest is een dubbel-EP van de in Duitsland woonachtige Amerikaan Joseph Parsons, die in een ongekend productieve fase van zijn leven zit. Soloplaten, samenwerkingen met Todd Thibaud, met de bands Hardpan en US Rails. De wortels van zijn muziek gaan ver terug: Crosby, Stills & Nash, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen. Melodieus en intelligent zijn de toverwoorden hier. Het lichte deel 1 van deze dubbelaar (The Field) toont zijn ingetogen kant, op het donkere deel 2 (The Forest) rockt hij behoorlijk hard.
