In 2015 kocht Hunter Pinkston de single Brass Buttons van The Lemonheads. Op de b-kant stond Gram Parsons’ originele versie van dat nummer. Dat was het einde van Pinkston’s punk-obsessie en het begin van zijn totale liefde voor cosmic country. Hij begon de band The Pink Stones en hun debuutplaat Introducing… The Pink Stones is een formidabele plaat in de beste Gram Parsons-traditie. Country, maar dan wel met een fikse dosis soul en soms hard rockend. Fraai opgeluisterd door de huilende steel van ex-Drive-By Trucker John Neff, inmiddels een volwaardig lid van The Pink Stones.
