Jerry Joseph heeft in zijn leven zo’n beetje alles gedaan wat God verboden heeft. Daarvan deed hij in 2020 meesterlijk verslag op het album The Beautiful Madness. Hij werd begeleid door The Stiff Boys, een alias voor The Drive-By Truckers. Nu, twee jaar later, is er Tick, een broertje van dat formidabele album. Tick bevat een paar demo’s, drie niet eerder verschenen nummers van de Beautiful Madness-sessies en een mini-concert in de 40Watt Club in Athens, Georgia met de DBT als begeleiders. Stoere macho-rock van de bovenste plank, als een Bruce Springsteen zonder handrem. Overweldigend!
