The Bad Ends bestaat uit vijf mannen die allemaal een lange geschiedenis hebben in de muziek-scene van Athens, Georgia. Bekendste lid is drummer Bill Berry, een van de oprichters van R.E.M., die zijn come-back maakt na een lang pensioen. Het debuut-album van The Bad Ends heet The Power And The Glory en die titel dekt honderd procent de lading. Powerpop afgewisseld met fraaie ballads, catchy melodieën, genadeloos goed gespeeld. Met Mike Mantioni hebben ze een zanger met een totaal ander, maar even karakteristiek stemgeluid als Michael Stipe. The Bad Ends are a band of veteran musicians from Athens, GA featuring Bill Berry (R.E.M), Mike Mantione (Five Eight) Christian Lopez (Curley Maple) Geoff Melkonian (Josh Joplin Group) and local guitar-shop-owner, Dave Domizi. Their New West Records debut, The Power And The Glory, was recorded at the legendary local studio, Espresso Machine, and features guitar driven songs like “Mile Marker 29,” “Thanksgiving 1915,” and “Honestly.” An immediate classic referencing the best of early 90s college rock. Athens, GA to the max.
